About Perfect Headshot PDX
Perfect Headshot PDX is a headshot studio in Portland, Oregon. It is the Portland studio of The Perfect Headshot, which has photographed people in Austin, Texas for a decade.
In that time the Austin studio has photographed thousands of clients and earned 455 five-star reviews.
We bring the same session, the same retouch and the same prices to Portland. We are new here and we say so plainly. Portland has no reviews of its own yet, so the reviews on this site belong to the Austin studio and are labelled that way.

What carries over from Austin
Four things come to Portland unchanged.
The coached session
Every session is coached from start to finish. You get an orientation before the first frame and posing direction all the way through. You do not need to know how to pose.
Image review during the session
You shoot a practice round, then look at the images together. You see what is working and change what is not before the next round.
The retouch
Every image you buy is retouched. You receive the original and the retouched version of each image you buy. Retouched finals within one week of choosing.
The pricing model
A session fee pays for studio time and coaching. No images are included in it. Afterwards you buy only the images you want. The numbers are further down this page.
What is new in Portland
The studio is new. It is at 2505 NE Pacific St, Portland, OR 97232. Sessions are by appointment. You send a request, and a person replies by email to arrange a day.
Team days are new here too. We bring the backdrop and the lights to your office, and every person is coached. We travel across the Portland metro.

How a session feels
Most people arrive a little nervous. That is normal, and the session is built for it.
You start with an orientation. Nothing is photographed until you know what is going to happen.
Then you shoot a practice round and look at the images together. Seeing a good picture of yourself early makes the rest easier.
You are told where to stand and how to turn. You are never left to guess.
At the end you get help choosing your images. A watermarked proof gallery reaches you the same day, so you can also decide at home.
An individual session lasts 30 min, 1 hour or 2 hours, depending on how many outfits you bring. Arrive camera-ready. Hair and makeup are not offered for individual sessions.
What it costs
Portland prices are the same as the Austin studio's. An individual session is priced in two parts.

Part one
The session fee
$130, $260 or $330, by length. It pays for studio time and coaching. No images are included in the session fee.

Part two
The images you choose
$130 per retouched image. You pick them afterwards from a private proof gallery and buy only the ones you want.
Smallest typical spend: $260. That is the Classic Headshots session at $130 plus one retouched image at $130.
There is also the Camera Confidence Session. It runs 1 hour, costs $799 and includes 5 retouched images. It is for people who dislike being photographed and want to get comfortable on camera.
Team days at your office
A team day is also two parts added together. The shooting day is $1,200 for up to 35 people. Each of the first 14 people is $95, and the rate per person steps down as the team grows. A team of 25 comes to $3,410 in all. The minimum is $1,500, and we photograph teams of 6 to 140.
Each person gets a coached mini-session, a private proof gallery the same day and one retouched headshot. Retouched finals within 5 business days.
